BIO
Name: Tom Boorman
Age: 27
Hometown: Sydney, Australia
Local Trails: Kooks RIP
Years Riding: 16
Years Diggin’: 15
Job: Owner of Hell On Wheels, BMX shop
Ambition: To stay riding and having fun for as long as possible and to generally stay psyched on life and new experiences.
Last But Not Least…
1: What was the last thing you did today before answering this lot?
Built up a new rear wheel for a customer, it was a great time indeed.
2: Where did you ride your bike last?
Olympic Park BMX track the other morning.
3: What was the last new trick you learnt?
One footed tables have eluded me for a long time and I think I have finally got them sorted.
4: When did you last build up a new bike?
The race bike was about 10 months ago, but I am about to build up a new Tech2 frame in the next few days.
5: What was the last album you bought?
I think it was Against Me! The acoustic EP
6: What was the last book you read?
The Mustache Grower’s Guide haha — a Christmas gift from the folks – haha!
7: What was the last BMX video you watched?
Ride BMX’s first video, Thunder, from 1997 on VHS this morning… an absolute gem!
8: What was the last city you visited?
Newcastle NSW
9: When, and where, were you last genuinely lost on your travels?
Over in England in 2010, I jumped on a train from Cherstsey back to what I thought was going to be Paddington Station, but I ended up at Waterloo at midnight in the rain with all of my travelling possessions strapped to my back and had to freestyle it and just rode about for a couple of hours trying to get back to Paddington. As much as it sucked I was enjoying myself!
10: What was your last meal?
Bacon & egg roll from the cafe across the road from the store.
11: What was the last great gadget or invention that you saw or bought?
I am a little behind the times when it comes to gadgets and such, but my fiance just got an Iphone and I was impressed with that thing — haha.
12: When was the last time you scared yourself?
The other morning at the racetrack, I got a gnarly side wind and tagged front wheel on the way down on the big doubles.
13: Where is the last place on earth you want to visit?
Anywhere with a foam pit and scooters…

Any modifications? Not much except flipping the 15T profile cog over to run closer to the frame to allow for a better chainline as the 42T sits out a bit as to not rub the chainstay.
What’s the oldest part? Nothing, I built it up using brand new everything for the first time in my life.
What’s the newest part? Everything!
What’s your favourite part? The whole thing — I love it really.
